Loving Tribute to our Sr. Mary Mathilda
“Gone from our sight, but not from our hearts”
No one is meant to live forever, we have to say good bye to every one of our beloved friends, family members and dearest ones when God calls. This is the saddest truth of life.
Yes dear sisters, everyone has to go one day or another but some sudden departures are too much to bear the loss. Yes, we do sincerely feel sorry for the unexpected death of our dear Sr. Mary Mathilda.
Sr. Mathilda was born on 1st December 1946 in a faith filled family at Koratty, Kerala. She was the fifth child of Mr. Kunjipalu and Mrs. Rosy. She was nurtured by her loving parents, brothers and sister. She joined FSM family answering God’s call and made her first profession on 20.05.1971.
As an innocent and pure soul, Sr. Mathilda committed her whole life to the Lord in bringing up the little ones in the school and visiting the families. She had special concern and love for the domestic workers. She played a silent, powerful and encouraging role in her ministry. She rendered her dedicated service to the people of Mangalore, Tiruchengode, Hosur, Pothy, Edamon, Chennai, Salem, Surandai, Mathigiri and Madhagondapalli.
On 14th of April just a month before her death when the community celebrated her Golden Jubilee along with her companions she was extremely happy. She had a kind of intuition when she was celebrating her last birthday and Feast day as she was saying “This will be my last celebration”.
Though she was suffering from many health issues she was always joyful and contented. She was well prepared and bid farewell to her family and friends to meet her Master at any hour. On 15th May 2021 surrounded by all her sisters she received holy communion and silently slipped into her eternal home at 5.43 pm saying “Jesus I am coming ”.
Dear Sr. Mathilda you have accomplished many good things in life, you worked hard and always followed the path of Jesus. You will be missed forever and always. The beautiful moments you shared with us will always speak of a great person that you were. This world deserves people like you but we know heaven deserves you more, to intercede for us.
Dear Sr. Mathilda,
No longer by our side…………
But forever in our hearts………….
