“Death leaves heartache,
No one can heal,
Love leaves a memory,
No one can steal”.

Dear Sisters,
With deep sentiments of sorrow, we the
sisters of Our Lady’s convent are here with handful of words to write a loving
Tribute to our beloved Sr. Mary Pragasam who completed her task excellently and
went to her eternal reward at an unexpected hour.
Sr. Mary Pragasam was born on 8 th June 1950 in a faith filled family at
Kandikuppam in Tamil Nadu. She was the sixth child of Mr. Rayappan and
Mrs. Savariammal Dhanam. She was nurtured by her loving parents, brothers and
sisters. She joined FSM family answering God’s call and made her first Profession
on 25.05.1975.

As an innocent and gentle sister Sr. Pragasam was a committed religious till
the end of her life. She lavished her kindness to her sisters and to the outsiders. She
had an outstanding quality of generosity and hospitality to walk an extra mile to
make the other comfortable. This was expressed by many people especially priests
who attended her funeral service. By nature she was a hard worker who gave her
time, talents and energy for the service of others. She was a role model for the
young trainees in the formation.

Today as we recall her life on earth, all that we could say is “she was a
perfect example of faithfulness and dedication adorned with God’s goodness”.
Though she was suffering from many health issues she was always joyful.
On 18 th July she was taken to St. John’s Medical College Hospital for treatment
and she was in the intensive care for 28 days. Then on 14 th August she was brought
back to Lourdes Hospital Mathagondapalli. When she was told that she is in
Mathagondapalli, she opened her eyes and then silently slipped into her eternal
reward at 12.30 p. m surrounded by the sisters of her community.

Dear Sr. Pragasam, you leave behind some of the most cherished
memories in our lives. Now you are in the company of angels and saints praising
God with your powerful rhythmic voice. You are in a better place now to intercede
for our congregation and for each one of us so that we can participate in the
mission of Jesus with renewed zeal and joy.

“In life we loved you dearly,
You left us beautiful memories
Your love is still our guide……”

Your loving sisters,
Our Lady’s convent,
Mathagondapalli.
